FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that experienced FX industry executive Gareth Thomas has left CySEC licensed CFDs-on-NDFs provider Sheer Markets, and has joined US based Oasis Pro Markets.
Oasis Pro Markets is a US-regulated alternative trading system (“ATS”), authorized to allow its subscribers to trade digital (“blockchain”) securities and make payment for those digital securities in digital cash (i.e., stable coins) or fiat. OPM’s system allows subscribers to trade both registered and unregistered securities on the ATS, trade digital securities OTC, trade both equity and debt in digital form through the use of a blockchain, and invest in initial private offerings that can be recorded on a blockchain.
Gareth Thomas was one of a group of seasoned FX industry executives who helped get Sheer Markets off the ground last year, as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), as was also exclusively reported at the time by FNG. At Oasis Pro Markets he will be Senior Vice President of ATS Operations. Gareth started his career at NatWest Markets, providing treasury services and FX dealing for UK corporate clients. Before joining Sheer Markets in 2020 he was Head of eFX at BTIG, and Director of Sales at Fastmatch.
