FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Equiti Capital UK Limited, the London-based, FCA regulated institutional/B2B arm of global FX and CFDs brokerage Equiti Group, is making some changes to its senior management and board structure.
Joining the Equiti Capital UK board is Paul Webb, who joined the company as COO last summer from rival firm ADSS UK.
And stepping down from the Equiti Capital UK board is the company’s Non-Executive Chairman, David Meek. David Meek is a career banking sector executive, having worked at numerous Tier 1 banks including JP Morgan and Citigroup, where he collectively spent 18 years.
It looks like Equiti Capital will continue with the Non-Executive Chairman structure, with Gurpreet Dehal (pictured above) replacing David Meek in that role, subject to FCA approval. Mr. Dehal has sat as a non-executive director on the Equiti Capital UK board since 2018. He has over 25 years’ leadership, strategic planning and financial services experience gained mainly at major global investment banks. His former executive roles included Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Credit Suisse’s global Prime Services business and Managing Director, Head of Risk and Chief Operating Officer at Merrill Lynch London for Europe Financing. He also sits as Vice Chair of the Governing Council at the University of Derby.
The moves comes after a recent management shuffle at Equiti, which saw Equiti Capital CEO Brian Myers move from London to Dubai to head the company’s growing offshore Seychelles and Africa business. The Equiti Group has also recently brought on board a new London based Global CMO, ex OANDA executive Chantelle Johnson; Benjamin Susanna as Head of Client Retention; former DGCX CEO Gaurang Desai as Managing Director of Strategy; and Waleed Saleh as Global Head of Market Research.
FNG spoke with a spokesperson at Equiti Capital, who confirmed:
Subject to FCA approval, Gurpreet Dehal (currently Non-Executive Director of the Equiti Capital UK Board) will succeed David Meek as Non-Executive Chair of the Equiti Capital UK Board.
Paul Webb has been appointed as a Director of the Equiti Capital UK Board.
